FLX 2014 Recap!

This year’s FLX hosted in both Reno and Las Vegas was INCREDIBLE. Everything from the keynote speaker to the workshop and association time was filled with laughter and fun. We hope you enjoyed this year’s FLX as much as we did!

In Las Vegas, FLX started bright and early at 8:00 AM with a fun introduction by our amazing keynote speaker: Mr. Kent Butler. His lesson on never giving up, and continuously trying was incredibly inspirational. We also enjoyed Mr. Butler’s take on the classic game, “Oh, Captain, My Captain!”

After, we moved onto workshop time. There were many incredible workshops developed and presented including: “Full Contact Communication,” “Repping the Uniform,” “GOOOAAALL,” and “Prep for the Big Leagues.” We hope you all enjoyed the workshops as much we did – the State Officers also loved going around and talking to each of the members during the workshops.

Then, after a delicious lunch, we moved on to association time. We loved seeing your different DECA chants (courtesy of East CTA) and seeing the creative ways you all completed our Social Media Circus challenge! We hope you enjoyed the association time as much as we did.

After the association time, we returned to the main theatre for the closing ceremony.

In Reno, FLX was hosted at the Grand Sierra Resort from October 13th to 14th. Nevada DECA's Northern Nevada Vice President, Divya Tenneti, was able to represent Nevada DECA at this amazing career technical leadership conference. She was able to meet up and collaborate with all of the unbelievably dedicated and passionate officers from FBLA, FCCLA and HOSA! From the keynote speaker of the day, Kent Butler, who provided a wild ride for the audience, taking them through the importance of leadership through sports, to the multiple workshops members of each of the organizations were able to take part in, this year's FLX was an incredible success! A special "Thank YOU" to goes out to Danielle Tolentino Tuason and Christopher Tuason for getting the conference up and running, as well as prepping the officers.

The State Officers had so much fun at this year’s FLX and we hope you all return for next year’s!
