Arbor View High School senior and DECA member, Anthony Gibbs, was cited in the Las Vegas Business Press article for his outstanding involvement with the Andson Foundation. Anthony gave service after school at an elementary school in coordination with Andson, focusing on financial literacy education. As an intern, Anthony has pioneered a new curriculum that places heavy emphasis on the children’s perspective. This curriculum has been adopted by a number of schools and districts, and the effect of this program has helped the participants increase skills not only in financial literacy, but also in language arts as well as in mathematics. Today, the financial literacy curriculum is benefiting the youth population from Kindergarten to high school seniors: “We now have K-5; we have a middle school curriculum, and we have a high school curriculum that really impacts junior and senior year,” McTaggart said. “Financial literacy is by far our most developed curriculum.”

Moreover, Gibbs has completed 100 hours as an intern with Andson, “our first student to ever have completed that,” McTaggart said. A check presentation ceremony is being planned as well. Once again, congratulations to Anthony Gibbs for his great contribution and effort to the Andson Foundation!
