Congratulations to UNLV DECA on an OUTSTANDING performance at the 2019 Collegiate ICDC!
Nevada DECA's sister/alumni program, UNLV (University of Las Vegas), were "in it to win it" at this year's ICDC. Though they might have a small team of eleven members, the Rebels brought back amazing results, and did a remarkable job representing Nevada on the international stage. They won a number of team awards, including:
Presidential Chapter Leadership Passport Award
Community Service Award, Advocacy Campaign Award (1 of 3 chapters in the nation to receive this award)
4 Blue Individual Leadership Passport Awards
2 Gold Individual Leadership Passport Awards
2 Academic Honor Awards
In addition to UNLV DECA’s achievements as a chapter, a number of members “brought it home” in competition! Let’s give a grand [digital] round of applause to the following members and their well-deserved success:
Martin Beck (Emerging Technology Marketing Strategies):
Marcelle Cruzado (Emerging Technology Marketing Strategies):
Courtlynne Cowan (Hotel and Lodging):
Collin Ermi (Managerial Accounting):
Michelle Le (Advertising Campaign):
Christine Villarin (Business Research):
UNLV didn't stop there; we're also excited to welcome the very first Nevadan into the Collegiate DECA Executive Officer Team! Congratulations to Michelle Le for being elected as an Executive Vice President for the 2019-2020 term. We're ecstatic to watch her take Collegiate DECA to new heights in the next year.
Cornelius L. Kilgore once said, “Judge me not be physical size, but judge me by the size of my character.” UNLV truly lived to this phrase, and outdid themselves this year, and we are proud to stand alongside them! UNLV DECA, congratulations on a fantastic ICDC, and thank you for representing Nevada well on the collegiate level.
