CTSO Leadership Rally Recap

Recently, high school chapters in DECA, FBLA, FCCLA, and HOSA gathered at the Cashman Center for the 2015 CTSO Leadership Rally! Previously named the Fall Leadership Extravaganza, this event gave all members in these Career and Technical Student Organizations a chance to learn about leadership lessons, focusing on their favorite Superheroes!

All members had the opportunity to participate in workshops that encouraged members to become emerging leaders, taking the next steps to standing up and being a hero in their schools and community. These BAM! workshops, presented by TeamTRI, taught members that with hard work and dedication, goals are able to be reached!

DECA members from Basic Academy, Boulder City, Centennial, Del Sol, Desert Oasis, East CTA, Foothill, Liberty, Northwest CTA, Shadow Ridge, Sunrise Mountain, and West CTA represented Nevada DECA at the Leadership Rally. These chapters had the opportunity to meet with their State Director, Curtis Haley, and State Officers during association time. With a competitive Kahoot challenge and short roundtables focusing on SCDC, social media, Project Generation, Project Generosity, and the video challenge, members definitely had an experience to remember!

The CTSO Leadership Rally ended with an inspirational, banjo-playing keynote speaker from Alabama, Wiley Bailey. With his aspiration to change lives of individuals with simple actions, the crowd was mesmerized by his impactful messages and stories. With this, Mr. Bailey encouraged each member to become a superhero in the world and organize their chapters into the ultimate superhero team by implementing the leadership skills they learned throughout the conference!
