Morgan Heath-Powers – VP of Leadership
Honored and excited to serve as your very first Nevada DECA Vice President of Leadership, Morgan Heath-Powers is eager to continue broadening the scope of this life-changing organization to further enhance lasting leadership experiences for all members.
Morgan is a sophomore at Davidson Academy in Reno, and has been an active member in her school’s chapter since freshman year. With a recent win in Human Resources Management, Morgan is thrilled to be traveling to ICDC for the second year in a row. It is through these experiences that Morgan has come to understand just the kind of energy and empowerment the organization exudes through its competitive atmosphere. But furthermore, she has developed a deep passion for the DECA story she tells, through which she feels she continues to become an even stronger leader, far outlasting her time as part of this incredible organization.
When Morgan isn’t DECA-cating herself to the efforts of her chapter and State Officer Team, she also spends much of her time serving fellow students as a Peer Advising Liaison at Davidson Academy. With a passion for fitness and wellness, Morgan plays an active role as co-founder and president of the Davidson Academy Running Club, bringing health initiatives to a small school that previously had no sports or athletic teams. In her free time, Morgan volunteers regularly at the Terry Lee Wells Discovery Museum in Reno and works as an assistant tennis coach at Caughlin Athletic Club.
Entering this new position, Morgan is excited to collaborate with such an incredible team of fellow state officers to make this year in Nevada DECA the best this state has seen. With a vision to provide even more readily available resources on life-long leadership development to DECA members, Morgan is thrilled to begin this new journey in her high school career – one she is confident will bring success to Nevada DECA as a whole.
