Nevada and Arizona DECA Advisors Meet for 2011 Advisor Conference

On Saturday, September 10, DECA advisors from Nevada and Arizona assembled at the Rio All-Suites Hotel for the 2011 Advisor Conference. The conference featured several speakers and presenters including Nevada DECA Executive Director Brycen Woodley, Arizona DECA State Advisor Oleg Shvets and keynote speaker Amy Gallimore from TRI Leadership Resources.  The speakers covered topics ranging from the new DECA branding and logo changes to making the most out of DECA in the classroom. Additionally, advisors were able to network and exchange ideas with other DECA advisors from both Arizona and Nevada.

The 2011 Advisor Conference also gave the Nevada DECA State Officers the opportunity to apply the professional and leadership development they received over the summer by presenting to the Nevada DECA Advisors. In the morning, Vice President of Membership Nathan Keith was able to meet with the advisors as well as give them a brief greeting on behalf of the Nevada DECA State Officer Team. In the afternoon, Vice President of Publicity Victoria Cana and Southern Nevada Vice President Randy Huynh provided the advisors with insight on the State Officer’s Program of Work and plans for the 2011-2012 DECA year.
