Isha Shah - State President

Isha Shah, a senior at Ed W. Clark High School, is honored to serve as your 2019-2021 State President. She hopes to help members take advantage of all of the opportunities that Nevada DECA provides. Isha is a fourth-year member, two-term chapter officer, and experienced competitor.

During her first year as a member, Isha spent her time discovering all that DECA has to offer and developing her skills as a competitor and a leader. Under guidance from her advisors and chapter president, Isha ended her first year with a top ten finish in Principles of Marketing at the International Career Development Conference in Atlanta, Georgia.

Emboldened by her success and excited to give back to her chapter, she decided to run for her chapter’s secretary. She was able to gain hands-on experience, helping members choose their competitive path in DECA and learn, from the rest of the board, how to effectively lead her chapter. Using the knowledge and skills she gained her previous year, she decided to run for her chapter’s Vice President of Membership. Ending her second year as a DECA member with a fourth-place finish at ICDC in Business Finance Series and a chapter leadership position, Isha went into her third year excited to run for State Office and help each member “shine bright like diamonds.”

Isha’s main goals this year are to expand opportunities for members in the form of internship opportunities and help Nevada DECA achieve new competitive success.

Aside from DECA, Isha is a competitive figure skater and youth charity leader. She has competitively skated for nine years and is also a youth leader for Ekal Vidyalaya, a charity organization which raises funds for rural villages in India.

Isha hopes that she can have a lasting impact on Nevada DECA by helping members shine bright and is honored and excited for the upcoming year.
