Raj Patel – VP of Career Development
Raj Patel, a junior at West Career and Technical Academy in the Biomedical Sciences program is a 3rd-year DECA member and is extremely excited to be serving as the Vice President of Career Development for the 2018-2019 term.
During the first year of his DECA journey, Raj placed 5th in Principles of Finance at the 2017 International Career Development Conference in Anaheim, California. As a second year DECA member, he switched his career cluster to business administration and management. He competed in the Human Resources Management Series event and placed 1st at SCDC. Before becoming a State Officer, Raj was also a chapter officer. He served as the VP of Corporate Outreach for the 2017-2018 term. Through this position, he was able to develop his leadership skills and learn how to communicate professionally.
Outside of DECA, Raj has many other extracurricular activities. He is also a part of the Varsity Chess Team at WCTA. He loves to swim, read, and play video games as well.
After high school, he would like to pursue a dual degree in business and medicine, so as to combine two of his passions. He is still undecided on what college to attend.
Raj is extremely excited to serve the members of Nevada DECA, since he believes that this amazing organization is able to provide all of the members the ability to be prepared for future careers, make new friends, and gain invaluable skills for interviews, speeches, and public speaking events.
