Your Nevada DECA state officer team is excited to share their new experiences with each of you as they lead the 2008-2009 school year. Throughout the summer your state officer team has attended Western Regional Officer Training Camp (WROTC) in Reno, Nevada as well as the 5th Annual State Officer Leadership Summit located in Lake Tahoe, Nevada. Each experience has been inspiring and are sure to bring success to Nevada DECA.
Throughout WROTC the team was able to network with state officers all over the Western Region, including our guest state officers from Michigan DECA and our national president, Uzo Ogu. In addition, our officers had the opportunity to share ideas with former national president Curtis Haley and the training team of TRI Leadership Resources, who shared advice on building successful chapters, conquering competition, and how to best serve the members. The state officers also participated in the second phase of LEADS, which began at the International Career Development Conference. Each officer has improved on speaking, networking, and making goals to help make their mark on Nevada DECA.
Located near the beautiful shores of Lake Tahoe, the state officer team attended the State Officer Leadership Summit with all state officers of Career and Technical Student Organizations in Nevada. Your DECA officers joined other leaders from Family Career and Community Leaders of America, Future Business Leaders of America, Health Occupation Students of America, and SkillsUSA to share ideas, develop leadership skills, and become stronger teams. As the team built lasting relationships and grew into better leaders, they are ready to serve the members in Nevada DECA this year.
