Leyla Lopez – VP of Leadership
Ready to equip and empower the leaders of Nevada DECA, Leyla Lopez, a senior in the marketing and hospitality program at East Career and Technical Academy, is excited to serve as your Nevada DECA Vice President of Leadership.
Leyla is a four-year DECA member who previously served as the Executive Vice President for East CTA DECA where she worked with her executive officer team to plan, coordinate, and execute all events and activities for her chapter. From competing in competition to building lifelong friendships with millions of memories, she is energized by the amount of ambition and drive that encompasses DECA. Her years in DECA have taught her that leaders are those who have an impact on peoples’ lives, and she hopes to continue that sentiment by helping members find the leaders in themselves.
Outside of DECA, Leyla is a passionate leader who actively encourages the power of the youth as a member of the Anytown Youth Council, National Honor Society, and Key Club. She also serves as the Vice President of Spirit for East CTA’s Student Council. A fierce advocate for social justice, she frequently spends time organizing and volunteering within her community to encourage other youth to use their voices to fight for change. Leyla plans to major in political science and later go on to become a lawyer and politician.
Always open to conversation, feel free to contact Leyla for any questions or advice!
