Christen Smith – VP of Marketing

Christen Joy Smith, a senior at West Career and Technical Academy in the Business Management program, is honored to serve as your 2020-2021 Vice President of Marketing.  She looks forward to being a leader and innovator for Nevada DECA, pursuing new ideas with her state officer team and strengthening the organization as a whole.

Christen has been a member of DECA for three years and a chapter officer for two years.  During her first SCDC, she was able to create a handmade scrapbook for her chapter that won first place in the competition.  Christen has also been awarded first place overall for her Franchise Business Plan at SCDC 2020.  DECA has allowed Christen to find her passion in restaurant management as a future career. By being a state officer, she hopes to give back to DECA by creating opportunities for members to connect through unifying activities on social media platforms.

Outside of DECA, Christen lives a family-based and health-oriented lifestyle.  She is actively involved in her yoga club at school and loves to cook fresh and nutritious sustenance for her mom and dad.  Christen has two guinea pigs who increase her vegetable consumption daily.  Her favorite subject is Chemistry and she loves to scrapbook.  She is an avid competitor in National History Day, earning a proclamation from the Clark County Commissioner Board for a historical documentary that is now used by medical professionals.  Christen volunteers taking care of a garden with the other teens in the Veterans Memorial Youth Council to provide beauty and fresh produce to the community.  Christen is also a member of the National Honor Society and National Business Honor Society.

Whether it’s a question about DECA, cooking, or a conversation about life, Christen would love to talk!  Contact her with any questions you may have.
